CPE in the news in 2008!  Click here to read the San Francisco Bay Guardian Article on the April 9th Green Economy/Green Jobs Event.

Some of the series that we are in the midst of or planning in 2008 include:

Series on ecological crises, the left and racial and economic justice organizing–classes, events and discussions that will bring activists and organizers together to understand the realities and root causes of ecological crises, the disproportionate impacts on the people of the global south, the working class and communities of color in the U.S. and the opportunities presented for social movements and the left given increased consciousness and engagement around ecological issues.

State of the movement against the prison industrial complex–a collaborative series of discussions leading up to the ten-year anniversary of Critical Resistance, reflecting on the last ten-years of strategy, struggle and vision.

Series of classes on left thinkers, theoreticians and social change–this series, through workshops, classes and studies, will explore historical and contemporary figures, the social struggles and political movements they participated in and inspired, their theoretical as well as practical contributions to those struggles, and the importance of those contributions and lessons for today’s movement building.

We will continue discussing, prioritizing these and new ideas for programs throughout 2008. We will also continue to hold timely, one-shot events throughout 2008.
